The fall and winter months are ideal for doing any sort of outdoor renovations in Arizona, especially once the holiday events pass by and we start to gear up for pool season. If you’re considering giving your patio and coping (where the patio meets the pool edge) a bit of an overhaul, then here are some thing to consider:
One of the top questions that homeowners ask themselves when it comes to patio space is just how much of it they need. This will depend a lot on how many people you have in the home, how often you entertain, and what size of parties you generally entertain at a time. Generally speaking, anywhere between 600 to 900 square feet of patio space around the pool is more than sufficient. That’ll be large enough for you to put down some chase lounges, a table, some chairs, and for guests to be able to comfortably walk around the pool.
Patio’s aren’t cheap, but you can fortunately work your budget in with your patio space. For example, let’s say that you have the budget for 900 square feet of patio space – which could go around your whole pool, but they you”d have no budget left in creating a congregating area.
In this instance, you’ll want to strongly reconsider putting that whole budget into building a patio around the whole pool. Instead, you may want to put patio in the most congregated areas around the pool which may take up 400 or 500 square feet, and then use the additional 400 to 500 feet to create a smaller seating area or an area where you can put a table and chairs. Look at your options and work within your budget to get exactly what you want.
